The commencement exercise episode begins in Camp Toccoa, Georgia. It is 1942. It begins with a radical of American men start their voluntary training in military experiments: the paratroops. Their unit was the Easy Company of the 506th Parachute stand Regiment. It was commanded by Lt. HERBERT SOBEL. His job is to relinquish the civilians into the U.S. Armys strongest soldiers. But he fails to rush upstairs the respect of his men, and a rivalry starts between him and a next-to-last despatchicer, Lt. DICK WINTERS. Winters best friend, Lt. LEWIS NIXON, turns into an intelligence officer and tells Winters their first fall upon assignment will be to invade Europe. nurture for this mission in England, Sobel continues to harass Winters by writing him up for weakness to inspect a latrine. When Winters requests a trial by court of justice martial, the sergeants in the company decide to turn in their band rather than lose Winters and have to embrace Sobel into combat. The episode ends as the company wit planes headed for Normandy. Planes carrying thousands of paratroopers cross the face Channel into French airspace, where German burn down causes the pilots to drop them in an unsafe way. Lt. WINTERS lands alone in a field, later conjugated by Pvt. JOHN HALL from some other company. Having lost his foray in the jump, Winters happens the anxious Hall off to find their units, carrying totally a knife. They link up with a few more Easy Company men and peril a German horse-drawn supply convoy. In a nearby town, Winters finds Easys Lt. sawbuck COMPTON (Neal McDonough), who tells him 90% of the company is unaccounted for, including their commander -- which puts Winters in charge. Winters is then asked to lead an attack on a thud of German artillery pieces nearby, which are probably firing onto the mobile in fantry move to take Utah Beach.
