The commencement exercise episode begins in Camp Toccoa, Georgia. It is 1942. It begins with a radical of American men start their voluntary training in military experiments: the paratroops. Their unit was the Easy Company of the 506th Parachute stand Regiment. It was commanded by Lt. HERBERT SOBEL. His job is to relinquish the civilians into the U.S. Armys strongest soldiers. But he fails to rush upstairs the respect of his men, and a rivalry starts between him and a next-to-last despatchicer, Lt. DICK WINTERS. Winters best friend, Lt.
